Dr. Matthew Gillings, MD

Matthew Gillings is a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He joined Waco Eye Associates in 2024.

Dr. Gillings was raised in Plano, Texas. He completed undergraduate education with a degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas, graduating with the highest academic honors at the top of his class. He received his medical school training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. After completing an internship at WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia, he returned to The University of Texas Southwestern for his ophthalmology residency training.
 

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Gillings treats a large variety of medical and surgical problems of the eye. He has a particular interest in cataract surgery including the use of premium intraocular lens implants and glaucoma disease management including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Gillings enjoys living in Waco with his wife and son, engaging with community through church, and playing pickleball.
